The second reason you might be told that having affiliates promote for you is a waste of time and effort on your part, is that they’re hard to find.

This is exactly the same. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you’re making a mistake putting a successful affiliate program high on your list of priorities, even over making direct sales.
